A couple of love-y challenges

Good morning! So I didn't get as many layouts done yesterday as I would have liked to, but I have to remind myself I'm still sick and my brain is a little fuzzy! I was able to do this fun little card for my 11 year old on Valentine's Day. More Nikki Sivils Sugar Cookie goodness! I'm almost out of paper in the 8X8 pad! Used my pinking shears around the image mat.
Embossed stamped image (my very favorite love stamp), random ribbon from my stash. I'm entering this one into the Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge Blog current challenge, to use hearts, and the DYSU challenge blog, use ribbon.

This one was made for one of the challenges for the blog hop at s4a (which has been extended, all challenges end today, so there's still time to create for prizes!), Stacy's challenge to use a love song in the title. I chose hubby and my wedding song, "Forever" by Ben Harper. If you have never heard it, give it a listen. Truly beautiful lyrics, and Ben Harper is an amazing artist. LOVE him.

Made my own flowers here....the big pink one is from a random scrap in my stash (that's what I love about these strip flowers...great for using up your scraps!), the same paper as those pink stripe-y strips. The paper matting the photo is cut up from more Nikki Sivils Sugar Cookie, I placed the pink frame around the side of the photo and the piece that was cut was placed behind the photo. Cotton Candy Stickles on the ends of the paper strips.
Random buttons. That laser die cut heart is so old...probably 10 years? Don't remember who makes them, don't even know if you can still get them!
More strip paper flowers, this time using that delicious looking chocoalte brown Nikki Sivils. Yum. MM brads in the center. That is an MM sticker along the side, I've been sitting on that for a while, too!
These flowers are simple...cut strips any size you'd like (experiment with different sizes for different looks.) Take a strip, and attach the ends, making a circle. Pinch the center leaving two loops on each side, and punch a hole. Put brad in hole. Repeat with more strips until you get the flower look you're going for, and you're done! Easy peasy!
The title is stamped and handwritten...I stamped "give me your" with my MM magnetic Rummage alpha stamps, then went over them in black pen. "Forever" is my own handwriting. Frosted Lace Stickles on the flower.

So let's see how much I can get done today! Hopefully a lot more than yesterday...my mom is taking the girls to a local indoor pool after school today, and hubby has to take my van to get inspected (and I believe he's taking the little man with him) later this afternoon, so I should get some nice uninterrupted crafty time :)
