Dream Valley Challenge 4: Things with Wings

Good Sunday morning! I hope you are all well, I am a bit tired this morning. I decided to get crafty after hubby went to work (he works third shift), and ended up hitting the sack a bit late for me, around 12:30am! It felt good though, even though I only got one measly card done...this card, in fact. I spent a ridiculous time on the layout and card I made yesterday (which I'll give you a sneak peek of, they are for a DT and I can't release it yet!)

This morning, challenge over at Dream Valley Challenges went live! This time, we are looking for things with wings. Anything you make is eligible, including jewelry, as long as it includes something that has wings. Our sponsor, yet again, is One Stop Card Crafts.

Today is my mother-in-law's birthday (happy birthday, Denise!) so she'll be the lucky recipient of this beauty. I used the Sentimentals Cricut cart to cut the butterfly at 3", using cardstock that came in my kit from The Paper Trail (along with more of that Graphic 45 yumminess that came with it!) Torn paper strips (I made sure to get the green fairy in there, as she goes so well with the green on the buttefly), sheer ribbon from the kit up the side, and Colorbok gold rub-on alpha which I had to trace around to make it stand out. Simple, and sweet.

How can I forget the butterfly body details? In the kit was a bottle of Ranger Glossy Accents, which at first I had no idea what to do with, until yesterday. I used it on a layout and loved the effect it gave the elements I used it on! I decided the butterfly body wanted to be shiny, and covered it with the Glossy Accents. When it is dry, it is just so shiny and pretty! I'm now hooked I think!

So that's it, head on over and show us your winged creation by the 16th of April (that's two weeks, folks!)

Oh, I promised a sneak, didn't I...well, here are a couple of them :)

That's all for me, I'm off to feed these hungry rugrats and prepare for a day of craftiness with my only crafty friend :) She brings her Cricut carts I don't have and we play all day. Love my crafty time with her! Have a great Sunday, hope to see your entry over at Dream Valley Challenges!
