Life is often unexpected.

You can tell yourself, over and over again, that you will do something from now on, every single day, no matter what. Then you remember you have 3 kids...

I told myself this would be the year of daily blog posts. That hasn't quite happened, has it! Tuesday night, we had a bit of a family night, as Andraia had an EEG scheduled for the next day to attempt to figure out why she keeps getting these headaches, sleep problems, and attention difficulties. She was only allowed to sleep between the hours of midnight and 4am, but again, she's not a big sleeper, so she ended up getting maybe 3 hours tops. We watched Megamind with big bowls of salty, buttery popcorn to pass some time, I thought it was a cute movie.

Yesterday's EEG was scheduled for 8am, so we were up extra early...oh, wait, that's what was SUPPOSED to happen! Here's the deal: hubby is a 3rd shifter, and knowing that I would be useless as his domestic diva the following day, he found someone to work for him so he could be the one making sure Andraia didn't sleep too much before the test, allowing me my beauty sleep *ha*. He decided, being the sweetheart he is, to disregard the 5am wakeup time I had requested. "I thought you'd want the extra sleep." So he woke me up at 6:15. Yeah, 6:15. I had to leave at 7:15. Superwoman or not, I just couldn't prepare for the day without cutting corners (translation: skipping my shower and Patryk's bath) so after giving him hell on his way to bed (I felt really bad afterwards...I mean, he was just trying to be nice, after all) I got everyone ready in record time.

I dropped Rileigh at a neighbor's house so they could get her to school, and off to the hospital we went. Of course, nothing every really goes smoothly for me, so I should have guessed we wouldn't be pre-registered as we were supposed to be. In fact, it was like the appointment didn't even exist. When the lady at registration asked if I was sure we had the procedure scheduled on that day, I was about to reply "It doesn't matter if it is today or not...it's happening today regardless" when she finally said "oh, here she is." *whew*

The test went well, except for the fact that during the last 30 min, they asked her to sleep, and she didn't sleep at all. Doesn't surprise me (again, she could stay awake all week if she had her way) but if they didn't get the info they need, we have to do an overnight sleep study. I'm praying they got all they needed...I can't do this again! I should hear back soon, and I just hope that this helps her. She gets some intense migraines, some to the point of vomiting, and I'm hoping they can "fix" it.

Anyway, here are a couple of layouts. The first one is familiar, you might remember this blog post. I finally fixed the journaling :) Isn't this so much better? I just used a piece of paper that went along with the other papers, cut it to fit on the pretty patterned paper I didn't really want to cover up, and voila, new blank journaling space. This is too late to enter into the sketch challenge I originally made it for, but I'm entering it into the Bling It On Anything Goes with a charm challenge.
This next layout was definitely fun to do, more fun with my GCD Design Studios Chic Bebe paper. This is for the These Are a Few of My Favorite Things challenge, scrap your favorite feature. Who doesn't love baby feet? Stuff2Scrap chipboard accented with Stickles and a great die cut oval sheet cut in half covered in glitter. This is one of my favorite pics of Rileigh as a baby, doing what she did best...getting those cute little baby feet in her mouth! She did it all the time, even in her car seat :)
See that scalloped chipboard piece from Stuff2Scrap designed by Leeann Pearce? I inked it with both green and brown and used blue Stickles. All papers are GCD (even that cute subtitle...I cut it from a word collage paper that was in the stack, each word in a separate location. I just love the versatility of a good paper designed with text :)
The title stickers, also covered in Stickles, came in the GCD paper stack. Doily, with more Stickles and an MM floral brad, from The Chip Chop Shop.
After cutting out the words from the paper and outlining them in black pen, I took two paper strips and cut them to look like ribbon, lastly adhering blingy star buttons.
A couple more posts today...I made a cute treat jar (although it isn't good enough to sell in my shop, I'll use it here for jellybeans in the spring time), and I've had pics of my scrap room forEVER that I've been meaning to post as I know a few of you have asked how I organize key aspects of my collection (*ahem* 15 years worth of scrap paper!

Hi Khristen... what great layouts these are... I too am a lover of baby feet (who isn't...lol), just love all the embellishments you used for the first layout also. It's good that you take a bit of time for yourself even when you are trying to be supermom and wife. Scrapbooking always releaves my anxieties. Good luch with your daughters migranes. Hope you get some good test results to help her out with those. :)
