Introducing (and candy!)...

...my craft room. Many of you have asked to see where I create, and how I overcome storage difficulties. Here's a virtual tour :) (Stick with it 'til the end, you'll be glad you did!)
Here's the old bureau I use to store memorabilia. Each drawer contains kids' artwork, photos, ticket stubs, programs, etc. that are organized by person/year, making it easy to do the chronological albums for the kiddos. On top, I have my Cricut, heat gun (actually it's hubby's, but he isn't really missing it!) and my sewing machine (which hasn't been used in ages!) To the left of that are gift boxes ripe for altering, a big box of "me" (full of my own personal memorabilia) and the kids' scrapbook stuff. Andraia's telescope is also amongst the rubble. All of those pages on the wall are old calendar pages from 2009, when I made our family calendar.

Of course, Patryk doesn't like when I hide in the craft room without him, so he has his own craft table :) See his recent creaion, the toilet paper roll that is now his "spotting scope."
Here are those wallpaper books I keep talking about :) On top: some hand made paper sheets (they are very big!) from a local shop (my husband calls it "the hippie store") and the 12X24 mat for the Cricut.
This bookcase holds old albums on the bottom shelf (from the 1940's-1970's, my grandmother's old scrapbooks,) boxes of photos/idea notebooks on the next shelf, Cricut cartridges/more idea notebooks and journals up from that, and more photo boxes and idea books on the top shelf. The very top of the bookcase holds quilt batting, craft foam, alterables, and a box w/my wedding pics inside. I guess it holds random stuff :)
The "crap corner." Boxes upon boxes of old memorabilia dating all the way back to the 1800's, unable to go in the basement for fear of mold/mildew/water damage. The 3 drawer cart is pretty organized: top drawer holds different sized bubble wrap for painting and a bunch of corrugated cardboard and sandpaper of different grains. Middle drawer: stencils, paint brushes, and my light box/embossing templates. Bottom drawer: fabric scraps and sea glass (I know, so random.) On top, I have all my tags, blank canvas or already created, and some designer clips, in the wicker basket that used to contain a wine gift set we got 6 years ago. DMC floss and needles in the box on top of that, the round one (which is another repurposed container...it had jammies in it about 5 years ago!) The pink shoebox holds rub-ons, and the box below that contains all of my punches.
The smaller of the drawer systems, an interior view (on top is where I keep my DT/challenge notebook and anything waiting to be scrapped. Also called "The idea tray."): top drawer, CM and Fiskars shape cutter systems, wire, stapler/staples, Dymo;
middle drawer, alterables, Stickles/glitter glue;
bottom drawer, alterables.
Here we have my desk (or should I say hubby's old desk, given to me when I threatened to use the kitchen table all the time LOL), and you'll notice shoe boxes are my preferred storage method. A nice way to repurpose, and with 3 kids, we have a LOT of shoe boxes!
On the left, my 2 drawer ribbon/fiber scrap storage. On top of that: eyelets, brads, buttons, charms, mosaic mirror tiles, etc...anything metal and small, contained in bead boxes (3 total.) The pink shoe box on top has raffia and paper wire of assorted colors. The stack of shoe boxes...the top box, doilies and fabric pieces; 2nd box, die cuts; 3rd box, metal embellies/designer brads; 4th box, spooled ribbon.

My Pearl Ex are right next to those boxes, allowing me to mix up a mist quickly. Embossing powder in the containers next to that. Glue, pens, etc. are right at hand as well, as I keep them right on top (the pens are in an old baby food jar.) In the 3 drawer system on the right, there are dec. edge scissors, sandpaper scraps, my gum eraser, pop dots, photo corners, eyelet setter, etc. Any tools I might use often are in here. You may notice my chap stick and lotion on top of this :) Need those! I also hang sweet cards from my online friends on the wall right where I can see them each and every day I craft :)
Here's where I keep mini albums waiting to be designed and my I-Rock. That water bottle is not for drinking, it's for mixing my own mists :)
That white bureau contains a lot of stuff, both on top and inside! You might notice all of those jars, waiting to become candles. The thing hanging came from my Karen Foster bag, which you can see next to the 3 drawer thingy. I use it all for paper now, so this hangs here or sits on the floor. It has gel pens, charms, Magic Mesh, netting, glitter, etc. in different size zipper pouches.
There's the infamous Pampers box which contains my big scraps, complete with cardboard dividers, organizing these by color and sometimes pattern. It getting full, almost time to clean it out. Chipboard stored in the 1st shoebox, small card sized scraps in the 2nd, flowers in the 3rd, and acrylic stamps in the bottom box.
A close up of that chock-full Pampers box!
What's in those drawers, you ask? Well...
Top drawer: kids' craft projects.
2nd drawer: Alpha stickers or sticker sheets too big to fit in the storage box I keep stickers in.
3rd drawer: rubber stamps in the shoebox, inks in the smaller shoebox to the right.
Bottom drawer: paper pads (and this Imaginisce sheet I bought to enter one of their challenges, requiring at least 75% of their product...my LSS has only ever had this one sheet. >:/ ) Yes, this drawer is stuffed full. (Time for a candy maybe? Yes, I think so.)
This holds stickers and random things, all organized by theme (baby boy, baby girl, wedding/love, family, etc.) It held cardstock up until 10 years ago, when it became full. Now, it's full of stickers! I'm such a hoarder!
There's that Karen Foster bag! Hubby bought this for our first anniversary :)
One side holds patterend paper...
...the other, colored plain jane cardstock.

Outside the craft room is the bookcase that holds all of my completed/in the works albums.

Here are a couple of my favorite pieces of art in this hallway...of course, created by the kiddos!
Andraia made this one,
...and Rileigh made these.

Ok, so you can see that I have a LOT of stuff that has to move on out of this craft room, so I'm going to do a giveaway! Rules (gotta have 'em):

1. Must be a follower of my blog.
2. Post about this on your blog, leaving me the link in your comment letting me know you've done this.

That's it! Want a second chance to win? Go "like" Khristen's Craft Room on Facebook. If you do already, let me know. Leave a comment letting me know you did this (you must leave a 2nd comment on this post for the 2nd entry to count!)

When I have 100 followers, I'll give away this fantastic package of goodies:

RANDOM DIE CUTS (either packaged or cut with my Cricut, some received in other RAK's)

LOTS OF RIBBON (I had to get 2 pics, one of each side, to make sure it all shows!)

A couple of ALPHABET STICKERS I'll never use and some more die cuts

In a word - WOW. In many words - I am completely amazed that you have all that organized in such a compact spot -- I am so impressed!! My craft room is about 400 sq. foot and looks like something exploded... Granted, it's my workroom too (as in job), so it's understandable... But wow, I need to do some work on that room!! :)

I'm already a follower, and I don't have Facebook, but I'll check back for your prize picture to post that on my blog :)

Thanks for the inspiration today!! :)
