Procrastinating!

Yes, I am supposed to be cleaning and getting ready for a visit from a couple of friends of mine, one to go through the old baby/toddler stuff in the basement and GET IT OUT OF HERE, and another to take a trip to Michael's with me to spend the remainder of my gift card. What am I doing instead? Challenges. Go figure.

This card was made for a total of 4 challenges:

Meredith Scraps, color a digi image.
Cricut Cardz Challenge blog, use a clock image from a Cricut cartridge
Do You Stack Up, a new challenge blog, use buttons on your card
Digi Doodle Shop's Best challenge blog, use buttons on your card

This card features my own homemade glimmer mist, which I've finally perfected. I used gold Pearl Ex powder to create it, I love how it shimmers in person! This first picture doesn't really do a good job of showing off the glimmer....

BUT THIS ONE DOES! Isn't it pretty?

I used my Happily Ever After cartridge for the clock, it's amazing how many images that AREN'T Disney princess related on this cartridge! I've been sitting on the glitter forEVER (like 9 years or something like that) and I forgot how it looked. I love how the year came out, but if I could do it again, I would re-do the image and NOT use the purple glitter. I do like the effect of the glitter on the champagne bubbles, part of the stamp from Wendy over at her blog (where you can collect this digi for free. I found this freebie image over at the Free Digital Stamps blog, go check out the many free digis available for download!) MM buttons, and the clock face is from one of my many Brewster wallpaper sample books, part of the Via Allure collection. Lovin' those wallpaper books!

This next one was created for Stacy H-W's card challenge over at sketches4all, use a Pagemaps sketch and use something old AND new, and it is also in the running at Simon Says Stamp and Show's blog, use your newest stamp. The "old" here is the ancient Provo Craft quilted paper, probably around 11 years old or so! The "new" is the cute little owl stamp I got at Michael's this weekend in the dollar bin. I just couldn't resist it, isn't it adorable? Random ribbon, MM brads, Colorbok textured cardstock. The textured cs behind the stamped image is golden glimmer misted :)
A closer look at the glimmery cs:
This last one was a "just because" card. I'll probably end up tweaking it a bit and using it for sale in my etsy shop (soon to be opened, probably in late January! How exciting!) It, too, features the golden glimmer mist, along with DCWV paper from the School 6X6 stack, punched with a Fiskars edge punch. Studio G stamped sentiment. Oh so simple, and I love that it's shiny! Oh, and before I go selling this card, I think I'll have to straighten out those strips there! Sheesh!

Well, I guess I should get my butt into the shower and clean up for my friends LOL Don't really want to, it's cold today. Little man is laying on the couch, watching Chuggington, ready to pass out at any moment. I am so hoping that happens! Hope you are all having a fantastic day!
