The saddest day, and a happy layout

Good morning! Where have I been, I hear you ask...well, as hubby and I are tired of the two pre-teenage girls wrestling/fighting/laughing/talking when they are supposed to be sleeping (as of late it's been until about 11 at night) and seeing as we get up at 5 to start the school routine and are tired of the attitudes due to lack of sleep, we've made the decision to split them up. This means relocating the craft room. *GASP* what? Yes. It was a tough choice, but I know it was the right choice in the end.

Back in the good ol' days, my craft room looked like this: http://khristenscraftroom.blogspot.com/2012/03/spring-fever.html

Now, it's more of a craft nook. (As a crafty friend pointed out, "craft nook" sounds better than "craft room" anyway...We'll see if it functions better. Something tells me it will not.) We took the toy area off of the living room that used to be a 3 season porch and was converted to a hallway-like extension of the living room and cleared it out. After 3 days of purging and lugging boxes and furniture downstairs, it looks like this:
I'm sure I will adjust, but I don't even know where to begin! I will be playing after taking Rileigh to school, making a father's day card and gift box to put his gift, a Nook, into. I have to get it in the mail so that he'll get it on time!

Before the big move, I was able to get this layout done, my second with the Oh Snap! Scraptastic June kit. I love the Amy Tangerine goodness!
Amy Tangerine Sketchbook paper, fabric stickers, stickers, and fabric brad; Heidi Swapp dayglo neon letters; Smash clip; Liquid Pearls buttercup & flamingo; Glimmer Glam - Hay Ride; Glimmer Glaze - All That Jazz; Glimmer Mist - Yellow Daisy & Seven Seas; Stickeles: Turquoise, Eucalyptus, & Fruit Punch; Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Tea Dye; Heidi Swapp Color Magic Banner.  As you can see, I liked the "good times" saying on the strip that you normally cut off, so I cut the paper in half to use it, distressing the edge with my Heidi Swapp edge distresser and water, rolling the edges and tearing in spots to let the backside of the paper show.
There's that awesome banner, spritzed with the yellow daisy Glimmer Mist, accented with the three colors of Stickles. More Stickles next to that awesome fabric brad.
Dimension! I adhered two of the pics with foam squares for interest.

that flower was black and white, but I added the Glimmer Glaze, Glimmer Glam, and some Liquid Pearls. Instant awesomeness.
The background is a combo of the 7 seas and yellow daisy Glimmer Mists. More awesomeness.

Ok, off to bring Rileigh to school. Let's see what this new craft area's like...*sigh*

xoxo

Aww Khristen,
Sorry to hear about the preteen fights and that you have to move your craft room to a craft nook. I like the sound of a craft nook. Will at least you have a nook. I was at the table for my first years of crafting and now I have a room. So I understand. Any who your layout is so cute. I love the torn paper and the layout of you picture is perfect. TFS AJ~
