Crafter's Companion December Challenge: Ribbon/Twine

Good morning! It's December, and that means more than the holidays: it's time for another Crafter's Companion challenge! This month, we want to see you use ribbon or twine (or both, like I did) on your project.

Making your own Christmas cards can be a daunting task, unless you keep it simple. The Crafter's Inspiration magazine helps you accomplish this while still looking like your best work ever with all of its freebie papers and stamps!

I used the magazine to make this card, which took me all of a few minutes. Perfect when you have a long list of Christmas card recipients!

All I needed was my Collal Tacky Glue, which I love because it ensures the paper elements are perfectly in place. The papers are all freebies included in the magazine, including the stamp and image. The sentiment was stamped onto Luxury Centura Pearl cardstock with Memento Paris Dusk ink. Blue and white twine was added around the top of the sentiment. I cut out the image and adhered it with adhesive squares over a piece of white ribbon. That's it! the perfect card for anyone on my list, and it was soooooo easy!

Head over to the Crafter's Companion Challenge blog to see what the other designers have come up with, and don't forget to enter your own creation for a chance to win a gift certificate to the Crafter's Companion store!

Crafter's Companion/Card Maker Blog Hop!

Good morning, if you're reading this post then you must be here for the CC/Card Maker Blog Hop! If you have come here from Stacy's blog, then you are on the right track. If not, head to the Card Maker blog to start from the beginning. The prize (and there are actually two of them): a Makey Bakey Mice Christmas stamp set, two 6-pen sets of Spectrum Noir markers, Mistletoe Moments embossing folder, and a 1 year digi-subscription to Card Maker magazine!

Here's the full blog hop list in case you get lost along the way:

Our challenge was simple: make a holiday card. So I decided to grab a couple of my favorite Christmas stamp sets, the Dee Gruenig Ahh, Christmas and Dee Gruenig Jolly Holly EZ Mount Stamp Sets:

I used my Spectrum Noir pens to color up the ornaments from the Jolly Holly stamp set (JG4, LG2, LG3, DR1, DR3, CR6, JG3, CR6, CR7, CR8) after stamping them in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I fussy cut them, ran a piece of twine throught the holes, and adhered them with Collal Tacky Glue. The sentiment is from the Ahhh, Christmas set.
Alright, there you have it! You're headed to Laurel's blog next. Happy hopping!

Sheena's A Little Bit Magical Release!

Want another peek at the newly released Sheena's A Little Bit Magical EZ Mount Stamp Sets?  I'm happy to show off this beauty, part of the Knowledge stamp set.

I turned to my Lily Bee Designs - Memorandum 6X6 pad and went to work layering papers over black cardstock. The chalice and sentiment were printed on Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Premium White Unscored 8.5X11 cardstock and colored with my Spectrum Noir pens (IG1, Blender, BT2, BT3, BT4, LG1, LG2, LG3, LY1, LY2, LY3). After fussy cutting and adhering it with my Collal Tacky Glue, I cut out the sentiment and inked it up with Memento Dew Drops in Summer Sky and Cantaloupe. After adhering two pieces of coordinating twine with my Collal Tack Glue, I affixed the sentiment with adhesive foam squares.
Isn't it pretty? I love this magical Sheena release! Check out the multi-buy offer in the Crafter's Companion store -- two stamp sets from this range for $25.50! As always, don't forget to like our Facebook page for sneak peeks of new releases and loads of inspiration and giveaways!

Watch for another post before the end of the week...I'm dying to share a tutorial with you!

Sneak Peek: Sheena's A Little Bit Magical

Alright, my fantasy-loving friends...I know you are going to love this new release from Crafter's Companion! Sheena has the most wonderful images, and this set does not disappoint! I turned to the Knowledge stamp set for this lovely card that will probably end up being a graduation card for my daughter when she moves on to high school next year (nothing like getting a jumpstart, right? LOL)

I used Authentique Free Bird papers and colored the books to match with my Spectrum Noir pens (CT1, CT2, CT4, BT2, BT3, BT4, BT5, EB1, EB2, BG4, BG6, BG8, TN2, TN3, TN4 and BG2 for the shading underneath.) All cardstock is adhered with the Extra Strong Permanent Tape Runner. A nice piece of twine completes the sentiment nicely, don't you think?

These stamps should be hitting the Crafter's Companion store on Friday 8/23, so mark your calendars! You need these stamps! Don't forget to follow our Facebook page and subscribe to our Twitter feed in order to see the wonderful creations from my fellow DT members using this soon-to-be-released Sheena range!

Crafter's Companion August Challenge: Animals Are Everywhere

Good afternoon! I have so very many projects to show you, but you'll just have to be patient :) Let's start with the August challenge over at the Crafter's Companion Challenge Blog. This month, we want to see animals on your project. Head on over to review the rules and play along with us! Here's what I came up with:

I love this fun tag, which I will use on an upcoming layout. Tags are so versatile, and for that, I love them :) I started by misting the tag with a homemade mist (2 parts water, one part Mod Podge, one scoop Pearl Ex - Flamingo Pink in a Mini Mister, shake well and spray away!) When it was dry, I stamped this adorable duck, part of the Popcorn the Bear - Party Time EZ Mount Stamp Set. I colored him with my Spectrum Noir pens (Duck: CT1, CT3, CT4, OR2, OR3; Cupcake wrapper: BP2, BP6; Cupcake: LY1; Frosting: BT3; Candy pieces: TB7) and added some fun washi tape and Distress Stickles in Mustard Seed.  Multiple strands of twine matching colors in my project complete the tag!
Don't forget to play along with the challenge, I can't wait to see what you create!

Also, don't miss Crafter's Companion's big birthday sale this week. They're celebrating 6 years, and offering some great deals and freebies! Check them out, and watch for a project tomorrow morning  here on my blog featuring these freebie stamps!
